A Knitting Jag

A big test can result in a knitting jag.

And a knitting jag can result in a lot of knitting.

Which means I now have a lot of finishing to do.

But first... maybe a little more knitting.

One of the things I love about blogs is seeing what other people are doing and having ideas sparked by it. Today was one of those bleak, colorless days with so little light that was made much better by web surfing.

I also love the Big Meaty gallery. Sometimes it become too easy to just follow a pattern and forget to make it your own. This is a wonderful reminder of the rewards of making a unique product.

Finally, I have been doing some knitting of my own:

It's Blue Sky Worsted 50% Alpaca/50% Merino. I wish you could reach right out and touch it.

So few lines...

So few lines of instruction...  so much work. I hate when you get to the end of a pattern and there is almost no knitting left and all that finishing to do.

You know you can make the whole thing look crappy by rushing it. So often, my sweaters sit like this for days or weeks until I work up the concentration to do it right.

Poor little abandoned sweater.

Knitted Courage

Yesterday, all I needed to know was I had knit the socks I had on. It just gives me that little something extra.
