Charlotte II

I made Charlotte all by myself for the first time almost exactly 3 years ago. I am attaching the instructions Mom sent me because they make me smile every time I read through them, and it is almost like being home in the kitchen with everyone.

P.S. For anyone trying to follow the recipe, the part about coating the spoon was made clear to me last Christmas. If you take your finger and run it down the back of the spoon and no drips or anything go into the stripe, that is "coating" the spoon.

I'm making it tonight for the Thanksgiving festivities here in NJ.  We're having a "small" group from Theresa's family (only 21 this time).  The boiled custard is cooling now (my boiled custard never seems to come out quite right, but the Knox gelatin covers a multitude of sins).

While it's cooling I just wanted to let you all know that I'm thinking of you (and those who are no longer with us) with fond memories of Thanksgivings past.  It's nice to be in the same family as y'all.
