That snow really is pinky-red. It's called watermelon snow. How cool is cryophilic algae? Do you think I could just have that on my lawn here in Minnesota? It would be a nice decorating scheme in the winter.

The watermelon snow is just COOL. I think it would be a great thing to have in Minnesota -- except it might make people wonder if maybe the Cat in the Hat was there but had run out of Voom.
