If you haven't ever been to the MN State Fair, we'd be happy to show you around. All the important stuff like where the best fries are, where you can get chocolate chip cookies and all the milk you can drink, the big slide, the MPR booth...
I can hardly wait.
Recipes from the beach are below...
Yummy Marinade for Pork
(from Mary Ann Houston - part of our wedding present)
Pork may be grilled or roasted in the oven; for 30-48 oz. of meat.
1/2 c. orange juice
1/4 c. olive oil
1 Tbsp finely minced garlic (we use more)
2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
salt and pepper to taste
Combine all the marinade ingredients in a bowl. Add pork (6-8 chops, tenderloin, pork roast) and coat well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator one hour before serving.
Pulkohee
4 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp sesame seed oil
6 Tbsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 Tbsp flour
1/4 c. water
green onions
garlic
Mix dry ingredients, mix in sesame oil, soy sauce and water. Add a clove or two of minced garlic and sliced green onions. Mix well. Marinate flank steak for an hour or more. Drain marinade, heat while grilling or broiling meat and serve as a side.
Yum! Thanks, Laura and Marcus.

And Weird Al is playing there one evening this year, too. I'm still sort of bummed I couldn't get time off.

And I thought this was a quote from Lord of the Rings..."All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost..."
