Well, my final year of marching band has ended. It's been quite a season. The band went through a bit of a struggle with attitude issues, but we finished strong.
Some highlights:
- Two BOA Regionals (translation: really big competitions). We were finalists in both, placing 8th in the first one and 4th in the second.
- We're NJ State Champions again. Woo.
- The first two accomplishments pale in comparison to the amount of insane, Pixy Stix-driven hilarity that we accomplished on the band bus and at football games
Ah, band. It's been crazy. I'm gonna miss it, though maybe not the whole twelve-plus-hours-of-rehearsal-a-week bit. This was a funny year though. I had a pet freshman who was plotting world domination. I did not fall asleep on the band bus and wake up with Sharpie on my face. I did not get a trombone stuck in my hair (that was two years ago). I played tenor saxophone for no apparent reason at the last football game (and noise came out!) I conducted a pep tune in the stands while the drum major was on break. AND I learned a bunch of the woodwinds' music for no reason other than it sounds cool. So much fun.
I'd post pictures, but it's really hard to choose my favorites... anyway, these are the two photo sites we have.
